Hale Koa Hotel beach

Due to Deployments, PCS moves, and other military-related issues, military members have to go through a lot of stress. On top of that, they don't get time to spend with their families or de-stress themselves. It is important for them to take some time out so they relax, and at least briefly forget about the issues they are dealing with all the time. Besides, the vacations help them reconnect with their family.

Fortunately, military members and families can do that to relax. There are fantastic, and affordable resorts operated by Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Programs, which are ideally located at exotic destinations so you can escape from the hustling routine.

One such resort is Hale Koa Hotel where you can enjoy your military privilege with the perfect affordable gateway in Hawaii.

My Experience With The Hale Koa Hotel

When I lived in Hawaii, we used to visit the Hale Koa hotel to swim in their pool, and lounge by the beach. This hotel had some awesome amenities, and was an affordable—by Hawaii standards—place for us to spend the day.

I always enjoyed the time I spent at Hale Koa, so when a friend mentioned writing an article about the Hale Koa hotel, I jumped on the chance to let him!

Hale Koa Hotel Overview

Imagine watching the sunset at the beachside or getting a sunny retreat from the balcony of your hotel room. And that too for a fraction of what others are paying for the hotels next door.

All this is possible at Hale Koa Hotel, a recreation center where military members and families are welcomed. Ideally located right on the beach in Waikiki Honolulu, this hotel gives you a feeling of home away from home.

The land for this hotel was purchased by the U.S. Army in 1906 and is located at the beachside ground of Fort DeRussy. Moreover, it is a neighbor to many hotels that cater to Hawaii's civil tourists.

Amenities and Features of Resort

This resort features everything that you need for a wholesome vacation. It has 817 comfortable rooms providing the best value. A generation of military vets and families each year enjoy the luxurious benefits, expansive grounds, and exotic location. These amazing accommodations are provided to them as a benefit for serving the country.

Bars and Restaurants

There are several bars and restaurants here having a variety of dishes and desserts. From breakfast, dinner, snacks to freshly baked sandwiches, and healthy salads, you get to taste everything you want. The distinctive Hawaiian taste is handcrafted with variety and quality.

The bars are located next to the pool and beach where there is live music before sunset hence making a perfect environment. Moreover, if you have your military ID, the bars offer a 20% discount on drinks.

Swimming Pool

Those looking for a family-friendly resort in Hawaii can book this without any second thought. It features a swimming pool that is great for children because it includes slides, a wading pool, pirate ship, and splash pads- making it safe for kids to play and enjoy at the same time.

Another oval-shaped pool for adults gives scenic views of tropical gardens and leaves lasting memories.

Activities and Adventures

The never-ending activities at military hotel Hawaii will make your trip cherishable and memorable.

  • No trip is incomplete without shopping. You can do window shopping, get a must-have item or shop your heart out at markets, and boutiques.
  • And if you want some music or magic on your trip, you get to enjoy the top Hawaiian entertainment.
  • Experience dolphin encounters, tour on helicopters, and zip-lining. Or if you love horse riding, you can book a ride and go for the adventure.

Accommodations

The sizes of each room are almost the same. With full amenities including an LCD TV, wireless internet, coffeemaker, a mini-refrigerator, power outlets, USB, iron, a private bathroom, and many others- each hotel room accommodates up to four adults.

However, the difference lies in the views. The views can be tropical, water-filled, or anything in between. And you get rooms that are comfortable, breezy, and affordable.

Besides, the rooms are classified into four categories.
